Online platform for start-ups in need of pop-up shops launches

Small business owners invited to search and book temporary retail space through Appear Here

Online marketplace for pop-up shops AppearHere.co.uk has launched to match small business owners in need of retail space with unused high street shops.

Backed by investors including Forward Venture partners, Ball Park Ventures and former head of Google’s Admob Russell Buckley, the platform enables small business owners to search for short-term retail space by location, price and customer demographic.
The sites, which can be rented for a minimum period of one week and maximum of six months, are listed along with additional information about the local area and nearby attractions.
Small businesses can rent properties directly through the Appear Here site, which offers support with the paperwork, as well as an optional equipment hire service.
Commenting on the benefits of pop-up stores for small business owners and start-ups Ross Bailey, founder and CEO of Appear Here said: “Pop-ups are injecting life back into the high street by providing the opportunity for people to launch or promote their products and ideas.

“They enable people with great ideas to appear, cause a storm and disappear. They hold attention and then they’re gone before people have the chance to get bored.”
